Minigolf’s English Open Champion Crowned in Nottingham

The winner of the British Minigolf Association’s (BMGA) English Open was crowned in Nottingham last week, as the annual competition returned to The Lost City Adventure Golf.

UK number 1 Michael Smith retained the title of ‘Sheriff of Nottingham’ with a score of 85 (-23), the fourth time he has won the event.

The competition saw almost 30 players taking part from as far afield as Cardiff and Hastings, including members of Team GB fresh from the World Adventure Golf Masters in Sweden.

Tournament organiser, Scott Lancley, said, “This is the sixth year that we’ve held the English Open at The Lost City and it’s an established location on the tournament trail. Players like the quality of the course and its ‘playability’ – each hole has been really well thought out. Thanks to Bria and the rest of the great staff at the course.

“We hope to see some more local novices join us when we return next year, the tournaments are a lots of fun and we’re always looking for more people to join in.”
